    "44. Joseph (Bushnell), b. Saybrook, Conn. 2 May 1651, d. Norwich, Conn. 23 Dec. 1746, in his 97th year, … Joseph Bushnell and his wife were among the most prosperous families of the town of Norwich, Conn. at this period. On June 3, 1708, he complained against himself before his brother Richard, who was magistrate at the time, 'for yt he had killed a buck contrary to law.' He was sentenced to pay a fine of 10s, '½ to ye county, and ½ to the complaintant.' He was buried in the Old Norwich Cem. and his headstone was standing a few years ago."
