    'Joseph (5), was born at Stratford, Ct., and served as a private in the War of the Revolution. His full term of service, according to the pension application entered by his widow, was 17 months and 15 days. A portion of this service was under Captain George Benjamin, in Col. Samuel Whiting's Brigade. He died Oct. 3, 1830.'
