- ↑ Previously, Source:Cutter, William Richard. New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial, vol. 1, p. 379, had been cited to describe what happened to Joseph. This source says: "He [Joseph Bradley, the father] suffered greatly from the Indians raids. In 1695 his son Isaac was captured; in 1697 Joseph, Sarah and Martha Bradley were captured by Indians. The wife of Joseph was captured twice." Unfortunately, comparison with the town records shows this to be a mish-mash of truth and error. This family had no son Isaac born by 1695 (or, indeed, at any time per the records), and Sarah was not born in 1697, rather in 1701/02 and was killed in the 1704 raid. Martha and Joseph were so killed, however.
