    "5 JOSEPH, br. to [James Barnard #4], b. 12 Nov 1642, had land in Kit. 1670, was 'of Watertown' 20 Oct 1676, moved to Berick ab. 1678. In 1686 he sued Guilber Endicott for debt. Lists 94 [mention in Capt. John Gerrish's Account Book 1686-1688, listed as "Joseph Barnot", see NEHGR 36:73 ], 298 [Land Grants in Kittery: 1671. Jos: Barnard]. App. d.s.p. bef 1708. Y.D. 7.155.[ 7.155 is a deed dated 9 Oct 1708 where brother James and other apparent heirs sell land, which by 7.190 appears to have belonged to Joseph Barnard]"
