    "Joseph1 Arnold, born in England about 1620-2 is first of record when he married at Braintree Jun. 8, 1648, Rebecca Curtis, widow of Deodatus Curtis who was in Braintree by 1640. … Joseph Arnold died at Boston 'an inhabitant of Braintree many years, being old full of years, being at Boston visiting his son John there, was buried Nov. 17, 1701.'- Diary of John Marshall. … Joseph Arnold of Braintree aged 68 or thereabouts deposed Nov. 26, 1690 that he had known Solomon Curtis since a child, etc. (Bristol Deeds 1:27) and he deposed again May 10, 1700 that he was 80 years old or thereabouts (Mass. Archives 8:88)."
