He was buried in the Old Haddam Cemetery. (Wife) Mary was member number 248 of the First Congregational Church in Haddam, CT, having joined the church in April 1773. Prior to that Joseph and Mary must have been in Killingworth, New Haven County, CT since six of their children — Candace, Simon, Joseph, Mary, Susannah and Dorothy — were baptized in the First Congregational Church there on 23 Feb 1773. … Joseph Arnold's will was signed on 15 Oct 1804 and it was accepted for probate on 28 Jan 1805. His estate was inventoried at $1,609.98."
