Joseph Allison is now referred to by residents of Cedar Grove, Orange County, North Carolina as the "General in the graveyard". He severed in the North Carolina State Legislature and Senate for many years and he also held county offices and was an officer in the State Militia.

The Allisons and Woods families founded the Little River Presbyterian Church in the Little River area, a few miles to the west. Today Eno is composed of two handsome churches, a small post office-country store, and two large colonial homes. Tobacco is the major crop in the county.
