23 Oct 1745: Mr Townsend was ordained. "There was some dissatisfaction with selection of Mr. Townsend as pastor, which grew into a permanent disaffection."

1746. Several dissatisfied asked to be dismissed to Wrentham which was refused. A council was asked for to adjust differences, which was also refused.

1748. The number of dissatisfied church members was increasing, and the church finally voted to call a council, resulting in at least partial reconciliation.

9 Oct 1769: Rev. Mr. Townsend resigned as pastor, which was accepted 23 Oct 1769.
