"Jonathan (Hills), b. (East Hartford) 20 Dec. 1698; bapt. 5 Feb. 1698/9; d. at East Hartford, 22 Feb. 1775 ae. 78 (g. s.); m. Rebecca Olmsted, bapt. 20 Aug. 1693, d. at East Hartford, 14 Jan. 1778 ae. 85 (g. s.), dau. of Dea. Joseph and _____ (_____) Olmsted. He was confirmed Ensign of the 3d company in Hartford, Oct. 1733; and Captain of the 5th company, Oct. 1738. He was Deputy for Hartford, May and Aug. 1755; and Justice from 1755 until his death. The will of Jonathan Hills of Hartford, dated 30 May 1759, proved 24 Mar. 1775, gave to wife Rebekah, negro man and 'garl' (Jack and Peg), use of house, etc.; residue to son Jonathan Hills, executor. Witnesses: William Warren, Joseph Porter, Nathaniel Hills."
