"45. Jonathan (Baldwin), b Jan. 31, 1679/80." "45. Jonathan3 Jonathan2 Joseph,1 of Waterbury, Conn., bapt. Feb. 1, 1679/80; m., Sept. 28, 1710, Mary Tibbals, of Milford, and joined the Church there with her, Dec. 3,1721. He removed, in 1733, to Waterbury, Conn., where he and his son Jonathan were quite leading citizens Jan. 17, 1732/3, he paid Stephen and Timothy Hopkins £380 for a mill and mill site, at that place. The management of the mill must have sometimes annoyed him. In 1753, the town made a fuss about the mill, thinking the grinding not well done; and the next year, a committee was appointed, the corn not being 'well ground,' who came to an agreement with him and Jonathan, Jr. He d. Jan. 5, 1761."
