There is a John Wright in the 1851 census for Bury St Edmunds of the right age, however could be the John Wright in the area of the same age who was married to an Elizabeth:

There is a John Wright who was convicted with two others for theft of cheese. Sentenced to transportation, but spent time in the hulks at London before he was selected as an exile and shipped out on the 'Adelaide'. Disappears in the Illawara region of NSW after receiving his ticket of leave very early.
