    Will of "John Woodard of Newton ... yeoman being weake in bodye", dated 26 Feb 1727/28, sworn to 20 Nov 1732, proved 27 Nov 1732, names my children viz sons John Woodwad, Richard Woodard, Daniel Woodard, Jonathan Woodard, heirs of Joseph Woodard, Ebenezer Woodard; daughters Rebeckah Hunting and Abigail Greenwood. Son Daniel, Jonathan and Ebenezer to be executors.
    13 Nov 1732: "To the Widow and all the Heirs at Law of John Woodard late of Newton dec'd Testate", cited to appear to consider proving of will.
    25 Nov 1732: Assent to proving of our father's will by Rebeckah Hunting of Needham and Abigail Grenwood of Sherborne who cannot come to court.

Genealogical History of the Town of Reading, Mass, p. 127, conflates this John Woodward of Newton with a John Woodward of Reading, giving the resulting man three marriages, misses all children of this man, and lists only children of the Reading man. Since Rebecca Robbins did not die until 1696, and John Woodward of Reading m. 1686 Sarah Bancroft, it should have been obvious that this was wrong, but the author apparently mistranscribed Rebecca's death date.
