JOHN TYLER WEBB was born on 3 Apr 1825 at Trimble County, Kentucky.

He married EDNA CARTMILL, daughter of JOHN CARTMILL and NANCY NUTGRASS, on 4 Nov 1847 at Putnam County, Indiana, at the age of 22. The Webb Family records list Harry Webb and Lina Webb as children of John and Edna, but these are not supported by other evidence. Harry could be John H. Lina may be Edna. He and EDNA CARTMILL appeared on the census of 1850 in the household of Thomas J. Borden at Union Township, Parke County, Indiana. According to the Parke County Atlas of 1874 the Webbs became established in Parke County in 1855. They lived in Parke County as early as 1850 but were boarders in the Thomas J. Borden household. This date may represent when they were able to purchase their own farm. He and EDNA CARTMILL appeared on the census of 1860 at Union Township, Parke County, Indiana. He and EDNA CARTMILL appeared on the census of 1870 at Union Township, Parke County, Indiana. He appeared on the census of 1874 at Section 18, Union Township, Parke County, Indiana.
