FROM A DOCUMENT IN THE CORNWALL RECORD OFFICE: Arundell family of Lanherne, Mawgan in Pydar Letting surveys and contracts for leases Ref.No: AR/5/79 Title:Contract for lease, Trelavour tenement, St Dennis Date:11 May 1749 Parties: 1) Dame Frances Gifford, widow; Henry, Lord Arundell; and Mary, his wife 2) John Varcoe of St Dennis, yeoman. Property: tenement called Trelaver [Trelavour], now in the possession of party (2). Part of Enniscaven manor. Consideration: £16; and surrender of the lives of John Varcoe, Mary his wife, and Elizabeth Perkin. Usual exceptions, rent, reservations and covenants. Term: 99 years, on lives of party (2), wife Mary, and John, son of John Varcoe the younger, of St Dennis. Footnote: 'Elizabeth Perkins lived in the Waterhouse near Exeter.
