Obituary in the Van Wert, Ohio newspaper, 13 July 1911: W.F. Hire, of North Washington St, has received a message, announcing the death of his cousin, John Tullis, of Leon, Iowa. Mr Tullis, a son of the late Moses Tullis, was reared in this county, and spent his boyhood on a farm three miles east of this town. He removed to the west forty-two years ago and in that period lived in California and Iowa. His last visit to Van Wert was during the past year, on the occasion of the annual renuion of the Hire-Summerset families.
