John McAllister Stevenson, son of William and Frances Wardale (McAllister) Stevenson* of Stranraer. Scotland, and Cambridge, N. Y., born at Cambridge, N. Y., Oct. 22, 1818, and died at Cambridge, N. Y.. Sept. 8, 1872 ; a graduate of Union College, 1839 ; lawyer.

They had 11 children;

Calif., on duty at the Union Iron works; rank of Commodore (retired). 2. Julin McAllister' Stevenson. Jr.. b. Aug.. 31, 1,'>4(;; res. Pittsfield, Mass.; m. Ilattie Cooley. She is a member of the D. A. R. ; in 1908-9 was

No children. She resided with her mother at Pittsfield. Mass. 5. Franecs Wardale Stevenson, b. Feb. 12, 1852; d. at New York City, in hospital, Oct. 27, 1904; m. Charles Y. Beach. 6. Edgar Chipman' Stevenson, b. April 11. 1854; d. April 23, 1854. 7. Sarah Mary Stevenson, b. April 12. 1855: d. of typhoid fever Dec. 1, 1905 ; m. DeWitt Bruce. They had :

She is a kindergarten teacher. 10.Edward Porter Stevenson, b. Sept. 22, 1863 ; m. ; is in the paper business in Lee. Mass. Two children, viz. :
