John Reynolds, b. about 1803 in England. He had a wife named Jane C., also born in England.

Their daughter Annie C. Reynolds was b. 4 Feb 1833 in Lincolnshire, England.

In Aug. 1834 they sailed aboard the ship "Splendid" from Liverpool to NY, heading for Ohio.

They arrived in Gallia Ohio in 1834 or 1835.

About 1835, they had a son, John Reynolds, who died before 1840.

On 4 Nov. 1839, my G-grandfather was born in Gallia, William Edward Henry Reynolds.

In the 1840 census I believe they are located in Gallipolis, Gallia, OH.

Sometime before 1843, they crossed the river into WV territory.

In 1843, daughter Mary Elizabeth was born in Virginia (most likely Kanawha, now a part of WV)

In 16 May 1848, daughter Sue C. Reynolds was b. in Kanawha, WV.

The 1850 census shows them in Kanawha, Virginia/WV, with John working as a butcher.

In 20 Jun 1853, daughter Ada F. Reynolds was b. in Ruffner's Hollow, Kanawha, WV, lists John's occupation as butcher.
