"From SC he moved to St. Clair County, AL and in Marshall County was a merchant, postmaster, and justice of the peace. His will gave J. J. Gregory 80 acres for taking care of George Washington Pridmore. 'More than 100 descendants of John Pridmore gathered at the Pridmore Cemetery at Ethelville Sunday for a family reunion. The family home is more than 100 years old and is well preserved.... John Pridmore came to Yorkville, which at that time was in Tuscaloosa County, but now in Pickens County, in 1816 from North Carolina. He selected the location of his grave three feet east of a sycamore tree in front of his residence. Wash Pridmore, son .... and his wife are also buried in this cemetery."
