"John (Pratt), Medfield 1666, was s. of John of Dorchester, but prob. b. in Eng. and I kn. nothing more, exc. that he had John, Mary, Priscilla, Hannah, and Sarah, and w. Rebecca, all nam. in his will of 30 Apr. 1707, from wh. we find that one d. had m. Henry Smith; ano. Timothy Clark; and that s.-in-law, Samuel Wright [sic, will says "Wight"] was made with s. John excor."
[Note: this summary of the will leaves out some detail and could be misleading. It should be pointed out that both Henry Smith and Timothy Clark are explicitly stated by the will to have married deceased daughters, i.e., not the named daughters. See abstract below.]

"Pratt, … John, h. Rebeckah, [died] Aug. 4, 1707."

Will of John Pratt of Medfield ... being aged about 77 years and being at present under ye afflictive hand of god", dated 13 Apr 1707, proved 4 Sep 1707, names wife Rebecak; Henry Smith "who married one of my Daughters: who is Deceased"; Timothy Clark "who also married one of my daughters who: also is Deceased"; my children John, Mary, Prscillia, Hannah and Sarah. Son John Pratt and son in law Samuel Wight to be executors.
29 Aug 1707: Inventory of John Pratt of Medfield of Late Deceased: £158-7-4, by Sam'll Barbur, Benjamin Clark, Edward Adams.
30 Mar 1708: Account of John Pratt & Sam'll Wight executors of John Pratt late of Medfield Husbandman deced, allowed.
13 May 1708: Distribution of estate: to Henry Smith 2 1/2 acres as legacy worth £10; to Timoth[y] Clark 2 shillings; widow Rebekah Pratt for her thirds; to son John Pratt; to Samuell Wight and Mary Wight; to John Eaton and Hannah his wife; to Samuell Bushnell and Priscilia his wife; to Samuell Clark and Sarah his wife.
14 Nov 1709: Rebekah Pratt widow of John Pratt, "being aged and Craxy and not able to com[e] Down", declares herself satisfied with division of estate.
