Facts and Events
Place holder for a son found in the entry for “Stephen Philips” in East Bethlehem in 1840. Age is shown as 5-10, so he would have been born in the early 1830s. The name here is a real long shot, and is based solely on finding a John Phelps, b. PA age 21, in Monroe Co, by himself, working on a farm. There are no other Phelps families in the counties around Monroe Co in 1840, so he would have to have been imported from elsewhere. This county is roughly on the national road route from Washington Co, PA to Muskingum Co, OH. I am lowering the confidence to “tentative” because of this. References
