John was a neighbor of Michael Sparke of Newgate, VA, and Thomas Stegg, Jr., who was elected 1st Speaker of VA House of Burgesses in March, 1643. The Speaker was the presiding officer of the House of Burgesses during the period in which VA was a colony of Great Britain.
Records show John owned land in Norfolk, VA, on November 18, 1670.
