John Nichols, son of Joseph Nichols and Mary Curtiss, born 9 May 1705 in Stratford, Connecticut (Barbour citing LR2:480a, and died before 14 November 1758 when an administrator was appointed for his estate. … In May 1741, John Nichols was appointed Ensign of the trainband in Unity Parish in Stratford (Col. Recs. 8:370). … Bathsheba Nichols, with John Hinman acting as surety, filed an administrator's bond for the estate of her husband John Nichols on 14 November 1758; she signed with her mark. Hezekiah Curtiss and Daniel Fairchild appraised the estate on 27 November 1758. Land came to £41:12:09, moveables to £91:08:09."
