    1 John (Legate), Hampton prop. 1640, sold his ho. lot to Anthony Taylor in Feb. 1642 and mov. to Exeter where he was clerk of the writs (1645), Town Clerk and com. t. e. s. c. (1649), and Selectm. (1647-1650). Called kinsman of Samuel Fogg. … He taught school in Hampt. in 1649. Bot ho. from Robert Booth 29 July 1650, and sold 30 a. to Thos. Biggs bef. 1663. He m. bef. 1644 Ann, wid. of Thomas Wilson, but an Elizabeth Legatt witn. a deed, Biggs to Gilman, with him in 1653, poss. an error. Adm. to John Huggins 11 Apr. 1665. No kn. ch.
