He died at Dunnstown, Clinton County, Pennsylvania, on 3 November 1878, age of 71 years. John Jones married at Norwich, now Huntington, Massachusetts, on 19 October 1831, Emeline Knight, daughter of Arthur Knight, born in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, on 2 April 1808 and died at Dunnstown, Clinton County, Pennsylvania, on 1 December 1861. John Jones was a railroad contractor. John Jones and his wife, Emeline lived in Woodward township.
