Stone Bridge or Stonebridge is also called Petersburgh in Smith’s Canadian Gazetteer of 1846, and is in Humberstone Township, Welland County, in the Niagara Peninsula, and on the Welland Canal. It is also called Humberstone in the Illustrated Historical Atlas of the Counties of Lincoln and Welland, Ontario of 1876, where the earlier name of Petersburg is acknowledged. It is next to Port Colborne in that atlas and now presumably part of it.
