There are several John Harrises in Ipswich based on deed activity, and more in other towns in Essex county.
*John Harris Sen'r, deputy sheriff, locksmith and gunsmith, d. 15 Sep 1714 in his 64th year (born about 1651), had a wife Esther.
*Sgt John Harris, d. 1732, a. 82 y, born about 1650), had a wife Grace (not, as Hammatt suggests, the same man who m. Elizabeth Wells)
*John Harris 3d, later Jr., fisherman, had a wife Mary (this John Harris) and son Thomas
*John Harris who had a wife Mary, possibly a barber, brother of Samuel Harris of Marblehead, and son of John Harris Sen'r (Hammatt shows no son John but one is named in the will).
*John Harris who had a wife Elizabeth Cowes, probably son of this John Harris, d. 1736 as Capt. John Harris.
It is possible there are others (one John Harris had a wife Margaret, one m. 1700 Susanna Wardwell, some are called husbandman, etc.)
Below are deeds that appear to probably belong to the fisherman John who had a wife Mary.
