         Gr-gr-granddaughter of John Hagerty and Mary Taylor, his wif
         John Hagerty (1757-1822) enlisted, 1776, and served three years as private under Captain
         Waggoner, Virginia service, and, 1781-82, served in Monmouth County, N. J., under Capts. Thomas
         Chadwick and Joseph Bishop; engaged in the battle of Germantown, where he was taken prisoner. In
         1836 applied for a pension. His claim was allowed. He was born in Ireland; died in Shrewsbury, N. J.
