In the name of God amen The 7th day of February 1775.I John

Giddens of Accomack being very sick and weak in body but of perfect

Memory Thanks be to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body

And knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and

Ordain this my last will and testament. That it to say principally and first

Of all I give and recommend my soul into the hand of almighty God that

Gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent

Christian like manner at the direction of my executors noting doubting

But at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the

Almighty power of God and touching such worldly estate wheresowith hath

Pleased God to bestow me with in this life. I give demise and depose of the

Same in the following manner and form. My will is that the first of all

My just debts shall be paid and then the rest of my estate that is left to go as is here mentioned

I give to my loving wife Lishea Giddens the best bed and furniture such as 2 sheets

1 hammock & 1 Rug bedstead slat and cord. To 1 cord and calf her first choice. To

Loom Flays and give belonging to it and all the rest of my estate not given

I lend to my loving wife Lishea Giddens till my son William Giddens comes to

The age of twenty one and then to be equally divided among only wife and all

My children here mentioned my daughter Peggy Husk and my son John Giddens

And my son Thomas Giddens & my son Ismay Giddens & my son Curtis Giddens

& my Daughter Sarah Giddens and My son William Giddens and my daughter

Elizebeth Giddens and my son Micheal Giddens & my son Ishmael Giddens.

And I do hire appoint my wife Lishea Giddens to be my sole executor of this my

Presented and proved by the oaths of John Chandler & Jacob Ttunington two

Of the witnesses thereto and admitted to record. And on the motion of Lisha Giddens

The executrix therein named taking the oath and giving John Powell for her

Security who entered into and acknowledged a bond for that prsesprove certificate is

Granted her for obtaining a probate thereof in due form
