geni:about_me According to the 1881 Census, John B. Featherstone was 14 years old at the time, and he was living with his widow mother Blanche at the address 3 Apsley Villas, Manningham, Yorkshire. There is some uncertainty about the birth year of the mother, as according to other sources Blanch(e) Borissow would have been born in 1838, not in 1839-1840. If we are discussing the same woman, the middle initial of John Jr. would most likely not stand for anything else than his mother's maiden name Borissow.

We have also found information on a John Featherstone, born abt 1867 in England, who would have moved to the United States in 1885 and was listed in the U.S. 1920 Census as living in Los Angeles Assembly District 61, Los Angeles, California.

We are wondering whether this John Featherstone would be the father of a John Borissow Featherstone from Los Angeles who was an American Field Service volunteer in Europe in 1917,
