Source:Hammatt, Abraham. Early Inhabitants of Ipswich, Mass. : Part One, p. 95, gives John a second wife named Margaret and assigns the last three children to her. However, this appears to be fallout from his erroneous thinking that the son John had died, and so confusing the son's wife as the father's second wife. No record is known of that indicates the father had a wife named Margaret, however it must also be pointed out that the father does not give the name of his wife in the will nor is she named in the birth records.
