TOMBSTONE FATHER JOHN L. DESCHAMBEAU 1884 - 1950 OBITUARY (Oswego Palladium-Times June 27, 1950) Rome - John L. DesChambeau, 65, of 312 Kossuth St., died at 11 p.m. Tuesday (June 27, 1950)in his home. He had been ill for three years. A native of Oswego, he was born September 5, 1884, a son of Emory and Margaret LaGoe DesChambeau. He married the former Mary Thompson, April 29, 1908 in St. Louis Church, Oswego. A Rome resident for 28 years, he was a machinist in the Rome Manfacturing Company Division, Rome Copper and Brass Incorporated until three years ago when he retired because of ill health. Mr. DesChambeau was educated in Oswego schools and learned the machinist's trade in that city where he was employed by the Oswego Tool Company. He was a member of St. Louis Church while a resident of Oswego. The family home was on North Division St. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. John L. Gorski, Rome; five sons all of Rome, Louis J., Emory G., Lawrence A., Joseph F. and S. Edward; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Richard Bell, Leonia, N.J. and Miss Dorothy DesChambeau, Utica; three brothers, Lawrence A., Samuel E., Appleton and Foster, Rome and a number of cousins in Oswego. |
