Albert and Jeremiah (not enlisted) were hired as teamsters from Louisville, Kentucky to Nashville. (John Dawson's brothers).

John Randolph and his brother, Will Dawson enlisted in the Union Army and fought at Shilo, Corinth, Gettysburg and Chickamaugua. At Chickamaugua, Will Dawson was wounded in the leg and mustered out of the Division.

John's squad was captured and John was held for exchange in Andersonville Prison in Georgia for nine months. This John Dawson, the son of James Dawson and Susan Palmer.

This doesn't say that he escaped the Andersonville Prison in Georgia. Mother said, it was because he was young and strong and "determined" he made it out alive.

Take care, John Selbe
