  3.   The match of this John Clark to the marriage with Lydia is largely circumstantial, based on location, suitable age, and process of elimination of other John Clarks in Roxbury. Bond proposed that Lydia was the middle wife of Person:John Clark (304), but that would be impossible if she was the mother of Samuel bp. in Roxbury in 1686 (i.e., after that John Clark moved to Newton, and after he had married in 1684 his last wife).
