SAILS Library Network digital document describes (among other buildings} the "John Clark House" at 140 Snipatuit Rd in Rochester, Mass. The historical narrative says: "John Clark arrived in Rochester about 1683 and died in 1727." The house was built about 1710, and passed to his son John.

TAG, p. 43:19-26, "The Clark Family of Beverly and Rochester, Mass.", by John Insley Coddington, says "It can now be shown conclusively that John Clark of Rochester, Mass., did not come there from Boston, and did not belong to the family of Mr. Thomas Clark or Clarke of Plymouth and Boston." In a deed dated 23 Nov 1705 describes himself as "John Clarke of Rochester, fisherman, formerly of Beverly" and brother of William Clark of Beverly. Removed to Rochester between the births of a child in Beverly 1683 and the birth of a child in Rochester in 1687, probably about 1685.

Will of "John Clark of Rochester", dated 30 Jan 1726[/27], sworn to 9 Mar 1726/7, inventory 17 Mar 1726/27, proved 24 Apr 1727, mentions "my eldest son John Clark", "my 2nd son Joseph Clark", "my 3rd son Cornelius Clark", "my dear and loving wife Sarah Clarke", "my eldest daughter Sarah Dexter", "my second daughter Mary Stevens", "my third daughter Elizabeth Clarke". Son John and "my trusty fried Rodger haskell of Rochester" executors.
