Dan,

The information I have is from newspaper clippings I found in a family bible. The bible has John & Alice L. Cargill inscribed on the cover. There was an obituary for Mrs. John Cargill. It states that Alice L. (Wagoner) Cargill, daughter of Daniel and Mary Wagoner was born in La Grange County, Indiana on September 30, 1851 and passed away at her home in Hart, February 07, 1935 at the age of 83 years old. She came to Oceana County in 1872 and has resided here ever since. On December 24, 1880 she married John Cargill of Weare township and they made their home on a farm in that locality until 1910 when they moved to Hart. She leaves to mourn their loss, the husband and one daughter, Esther; two brothers, George Wagoner of Topeka, Indiana and John Wagoner of Conneaut, Ohio, besides many nieces, nephews and other relatives. The information that I have on the Wagoner family also came from newspaper clippings found in this bible. There was an obituary for Miss Mary A. Himes born in Hunting, Huntington Co., Pa., December 31, 1827, being one of eleven children, seven boys and four girls, all of whom proceded her in death. When she was twelve years of age the family moved to New Philidelphia, Ohio. Daniel Wagoner, whose young wife had died near Ligonier in 1857, leaving him with four small children, three girls and one boy, went to New Philadelphia Ohio, in 1858 and renewed an aquaintance begun in youth and on July 04, 1858, Mary A. Himes and Daniel Wagoner were married and took up thread on Mr. Wagoner's farm ten miles northwest of Ligonier. The four motherless little ones were at once taken into her motherly arms and heart to be tenderly cherished and ministered unto and sharing mutually, with three of her own that came. In 1892 they moved to the city of Ligonier. There are left to mourn the departure of the saintly woman, Mrs Mary A. Tommie, Del Rio, Tx, Mrs. Ella Swartz, Camden, Ohio, Mrs. Alice Cargill, Hart, Michigan, and George Wagoner of Topeka, Indiana. These with her own children, Thomas Wagoner and Mrs. Susie H. Sipe , this city, and John E. Wagoner, of Conneaut, Ohio, with numberous other friends, sit in sadness with the husband and father, waiting the appointed time. Under the ministry of George Musson, she, with her husband took membership in the Christian church, in which fellowship she peacefully fell asleep. Services were held April 26, 1901.
