    "John Browne came to Milford in 1648 and joined the church 9 December 1649 (Milford Vital Records) and died Newark, N.J. 6 November 1690. His will was dated 17 December 1689 and probated 4 December 1690. He was interested in the settlement of Derby, Conn, in 1660 and a founder of the city of Newark, N.J. He had lot # 61 of 3 acres in Milford, an after planter. He married in England Mary Burwell who was baptized Minsden Chapel, co. Herts 25 September 1625 dau of John and first wife Esther or Hester (Winchester). She joined the church in Milford. 23 December 1649 (Milford Vital Records)."
