"Andrews, John, s. of John. Ens., west parish company, Fairfield, May 1715. Born at Fairfield, 24 Oct. 1679, d. there in 1728. … Married (1) Eleanor Burr, dau. of Daniel, b. 26 Oct. 1680. He m. (2) Abigail (Sturgis), widow of Simon Couch, who d. 14 Sept. 1730, ae. abt. 57 (g. s., Westport). In 1708 he was called [Conn. Col. Rec] brother-in-law of Deborah widow of Joseph Whelpley [she was born Deborah Burr]. Adm'n granted, 3 Dec. 1728, to Abigail and John Andrews. Dower in Est. of Ens. John was set to his widow Abigail, 6 Jan. 1729/30."
