Facts and Events
Neu Pasua, Austria-Hungary changed to Neu Pasua, Yugoslavia in 1918 after World War I. Austria was divided among Romania, Poland, and Yugoslavia. During World War II the Neu Pasuan's welcomed the German soldiers into their German-speaking town. When the communists came the town's people were forced to leave, fearing for their lives. The Binders left Neu Pasua in October 1944 and settled in another part of Austria. The Austrians did not want the hundreds of thousands of new immigrants. The Binders left and settled in Balingen, Germany. The Binder descendants are still there as of 1998. |
