GRAHAM — Mr. Joe Vincent Wood Jr.., 51, of 3251 N.C. 87 South, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at his home after 2 ½ years of failing health, three days critical.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs.. Jean Massey Wood, who survives, and the son of Mr. Joe Vincent Wood Sr. and Mrs.. Mary Thompson Wood, both deceased. He was a member of the Buckhorn Gun Club, a former president of the Kidney Foundation, former member and president of the Mountain View Ruritan Club, former member of Piedmont Horsman’s Association and the American Quarter Horse Associtaion. He was a member of the Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Board of Trustees.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs.. Tammy E. Belvin of Saxapahaw; three sons, Mr. John B. Wood of Kimesville, Mr. Franklin Aldridge of Graham and Mr. Edison Aldridge of Sumter, S.C.; a brother, Mr. William H. Wood of Graham; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Dawson. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church cemetery.
