According to the Allen-Minton manuscript, Job first settled in Connecticut and from there he moved to Newark, NJ or Orange, NJ; and then to Rockaway Valley, now called Denville, where he purchased a large farm; built the first forge there, and the first church. This property was sold in 1814, having been in the family some 100 years or more.
