'The will [of Seth Toothaker] gives Seth's wife's name as Joana [sic], not Hannah as previously stated. Footnote: Assuming his wife's first name was read incorrectly and she was still the daughter of Waitstill and Meribah (Hutchins) Webber as claimed, she was most likely the Joanna Webber daughter of Waitstill and Meribah, b. York, 19 June 1726 (Lester MacKenzie Bragdon and John Eldridge Frost, Vital Records of York, Maine [Camden, Maine, 1992], 33).'

Joanna Toothaker, living with another female, a male over 16 and a male under 16 - probably a son or daughter, their spouse and child

'Deeds show Seth Toothaker [Jr.] selling 21 November 1795 the land he inherited from the estate of this father, Seth, ... [citing Cumberland Co., Maine, Deeds, 36:588-89]. Assuming the terms of the will were followed, this would indicate that Joanna, wife of Seth, had died between the date of the census [1790] and the date of this deed.'

  4. Her name was previously thought to be Hannah (Webber) Toothaker, but it appears from her husband's will that her name was Joanna.
