According to the Sallie DeWitt 1981 Genealogy, Jim Brown came from the Lowe's Creek area. Jim may have had a brother by the name of John N. Brown, not to be confused with the son of Jim Brown that was also named John Brown. The John N. Brown that may be Jim's brother was located in "Cemetery Listings - Branch Area", which was published by the Franklin County Early History Council and copyrighted by Mrs. Louise Byrum, Rte. 1, Charleston AR in 1983. John N. Brown is listed as being found in the Brown's Chapel Cemetery, 12 miles NW of Branch AR, and the headstone was copied on 10/26/1968. John N. Brown's headstone did not give a date of birth or date of death, but said only, "Corp., Co. 1, 15 Kansas Calvary". It is the Wife of J.N. Brown that is also listed at the Brown's Chapel Cemetery, that indicates a possible age of John N. Brown. Her headstone reads, "S. E. Brown, wife of J.N. Brown, b. Nov. 24, 1842; d. Nov. 20, 1898.
