    Jessie V Crew Saunders

    Jessie V. Saunders, 98, Kansas City, KS, died Thursday, December 31, 1998, at Shawnee Gardens Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 4, at Simmons Funeral Home; burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Emerson Park Christian Church.

    Mrs. Saunders was born April 21, 1900 in Winfield, KS, and had lived in Kansas City, KS, since 1910. She was a member of the Emerson Park Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bert Saunders, in 1976. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, LaVerne Eddings; her parents; five brothers; a sister; and a daughter-in-law, Meri Lou Saunders. Surviving are a son, Bert A. Saunders Jr. and his wife, Jean, Shawnee, KS; son-in-law, Paul Eddings, Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren; one stepgrandson; six great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
