Jesse Louis Smith Sr., 68, Meyersdale, died Nov. 15, in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born June 7, 1898, in Glencoe, he was a son of Louis and Elizabeth (Cook) Smith. His wife, the former Sarah L. Beal, preceded him in death in 1964. Surviving are three children: Jesse L. Jr. and Mrs. Elmer Crissey, Meyersdale; and Specialist 4th Class Charles E., of Harmony. He was a brother of William, Belsano; Harry and Harvey Smith, Glencoe; Mrs. Emma Groff, Connellsville; and Mrs. Bertha Miller, Berlin RD. He was a veteran of World War I. Friends are being received at Price Funeral Home, where funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m., with Rev. William Pope officiating. Interment will be made in Union cemetery. There will be a military graveside service.
