He married Ann Grady, Daughter of John Grady and Mary Whitfield,and they had one chile that they named John. She died and heleft Virginia shortly thereafter. He moved on to New HanoverCounty (now Pender) and purchased land in what is now known asthe Croom's Bridge Road area of the county. The land was handeddown fom one generation to the other and eventually sold out ofthe family.
