11 May 1681: Petition of Jeremiah Mather: In a house fire in December in Boston, was helping to extinguish it and injured "by the blowing up of a house", including broken thigh, under doctors care for several months, requests allowance. Granted £10, apparently never paid: "deput[ie]s Consent not hereto".
[Note: this is apparently the first record of Jeremiah in New England. Also suggests of legal age on this date, so born by 1660.]
