Will of Isaac Mather of St. Leonard Shoreditch, Middlesex, dated 8 Jan 1718[/19], proved 12 Jan 1720, names "widow of my late brother Jeremiah Mather deceased, now in New England, and to her daughters ... To my nephew Joseph Mather, son of the said Jeremiah..."
11 May 1681: Petition of Jeremiah Mather: In a house fire in December in Boston, was helping to extinguish it and injured "by the blowing up of a house", including broken thigh, under doctors care for several months, requests allowance. Granted £10, apparently never paid: "deput[ie]s Consent not hereto". [Note: this is apparently the first record of Jeremiah in New England. Also suggests of legal age on this date, so born by 1660.]
