    Becomes Ill in Store & Passes Away at His Home a Few Hours Later.
    Jeremiah U. Schonour, aged 63 years, residing at 46 North 3rd Street, died suddenly of heart disease at hoem tody. This morning about 6 o'clock, Mr. Schonour went to the grocery store of Philip J. Rumbaugh at 3rd and Washington Streets. While standing in the store, he suddenly fell forward on the counter before which he was standing. Dr. D.B. Brobst was called & the man was removed to his house. He had complained at times during the past month. Mr. Schonour was born in Gouglersville & came to this city about 7 years ago. For many years he worked as a stonemason, last working for Oscar Stiegerwalt, in this city. Surviving are his widow, Sarah (nee Ruffner), & these children: Berton of Shillington; Mrs. Chester Bear; Zenas; Mrs. Hattie Kohl; Vermont(spl); & Mrs. Sarah Hunter, all of Reading. There also remain 2 brothers, John & Henry of Gouglersville & these sisters: Mrs. Milton Kauffman, Mrs. Henry Hemig, Mrs. George Krick, and Mrs. Frank Grill, all of Shillington; & Mrs.William Thompson of Gouglersville.

    Jeremiah V. Schonour
    The choir of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mohnton, sang several hymns at the funeral of Jeremiah V. Schonour, held at his home, 46 North 3rd Street. Rev. C.P.
    Heffner officiated. Following the home services, the cortege proceeded to the church, where further exercises were held. Interment was made in Mohnton Cemetery. The body was dressed in a black suit, reposed in a solid oak casket with silver handles & name plate. Undertaker C.D.B. Kindt, of Shillinton, was in charge. The following were among the tributes: Spray of pink carnations-children; Spray of cream roses-widow; sheaf of wheat-grandchildren; spray of pink carnations-Mrs. Kimmerling; spray of pink carnations-Cora & Edina; spray
    of pink carnations-grandchildren.

    Jeremiah U. Schonour, aged 63, died suddenly at 11am Monday of a stroke at hs residence, 46 North 3rd Street. He was apparently in good spirits & never complained of pains. He was born in Reading & lived nearly all his life. He
    was last employed as a stone mason. He is survived by his wife, Sarah (Ruffner) & these children: Berton of Shillington; Mrs. Chester Bear of Reading; Mrs. Hattie Kohl of Vermont-Reading; and Mrs. Sarah Hunter of Reading. 2 brothers, John & henry of Gouglersville, & these sisters also survive: Mrs. Milton Kauffman, Mrs. Henry Hemmig, Mrs. Frank Grill, all of Shillington; & Mrs. William Thompson of Gouglersville remain. Deceased was a member of St. John's German Lutheran Church.
