"2. Jeremiah³ Gifford, (Samuel², Stephen¹), was born 23 August 1708 at Norwich, New London Co., CT. [IGI]. He married 1^st Martha Hough at
Norwich 21 Sept. 1730 and after her death he married 2nd 5 (or 22) Nov. 1746 Anne Cole at same place. He was taxed in the Southern Precinct, DC from Feb. 1755 to June 1760. Jeremiah Gifford died 12 Jan. 1800 age 90 years and was buried in the Old Baptist Burying Ground in Carmel, Putnam Co., NY."
