An Ottawa octogenarian, Mrs. Jennie Cheney, widow of Sylvester Cheney, died last night at a local hospital after a long illness. She was 89 years old.
The former Jennie Smith, she was born in Vermont and came to Ottawa while a child and was educated here.
Surviving are two sons, Hiram and William of Ottawa, and two daughters, Mrs. Etta Willard of Ottawa and Mrs. B. Anderson of Westboro.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Tuesday at the Tubman Funeral Home, Westboro, by the Rev. A.P. Menzies, pastor of Westboro United church. Interment will be at Moorewood.
