Children of Noah Morse and 2nd wife Abigail Gleason: Jemima, b. 1715, m. Pomfret 4 Jul 1731 Henry Cahill [sic, the Pomfret marriage record says Henry Cobb, as do the births of their children, including a son named Noah and daughter Mary].
[Note: despite no second birth record nor intervening death record, this error-strewn passage has manufactured a fictitious second daughter named Jemima and married her off at the very young age of 16. No explanation is given, one can only guess they misread the guardian bond from 1719 which clearly says "Jemima in her 14th year of age", meaning age 13 in 1719, so born about 1706 (April needs no double dating, the VRs give the birth in April 1706). Their presentation only makes sense if saw this as "in her 4th year", but it is not ambiguous. Further the distribution order by the judge says there were 4 children by the first wife, listing Jemima as the oldest, again refuting any possible birth in 1715 to the second wife. Henry and Jemima Cobb apparently left Pomfret for New York about 1743 and then had relocated to North Carolina by 1755 (see Source:New England Ancestors (New England Historic Genealogical Society), Vol. 6.1, p. 43)]
